Please read the two articles on the history of lacrosse. Take notes on the important parts that you read and be ready to discuss them in class. We will also be taking a test on lacrosse history.

PJHS PE Lacrosse rules:

These are the rules we will use in class


1- No Boundry Lines

2- 3 Cones designate the center line

3- Captains RO SHAM BO to win first pass, to begin the game

4- No one is allowed inside the crease while the ball is in play

5- Crosses (the stick) are not allowed in the crease

6- A player may only possess the ball for 5 seconds

7- NO STICK checking

8- Every player on the attacking team must be on the attack half of the field in order for a goal to be scored

9- If a ball is stopped in the crease a defensive player may enter and obtain possession

10- Dead ball(inside the crease) restarts are taken from the top of the crease

11- The first pass is taken from the center line

12- After a goal is scored, the scored upon team restarts play from the center line

13- If a ball is held more than 5 seconds it is turned over to the opposite team

14- No Body contact (Body checking)

15- You may not regain possession of the ball once it is dropped; until it is touched by another player
